Grid for Web Design

I came across an interesting article today. It's about using the grid system for web design. The article summarizes the grid system as a predictable pattern of intersecting horizontal and vertical lines spaced evenly apart. The spaces created by the lines create an order for the content, making the grid system a powerful tool for designers. The article has a bunch of examples of sites that use the system well. Below is an example of a page that uses the system. I have to say that I don't see the "order" in all of the examples in the article but I do see a lot of elements that are user friendly and "predictable," I guess this just means some of the sites use the system better than others. Definitely an interesting approach, though!

  1. This is a great website! I'm also up for learning more about grids anytime I can.
